Relaxing and swapping fish stories over lunch after a recent tournament!
An exceptionally large King Mackerel caught by Sanibel Fishing club members Charles Sobczak and Mike Layton. Close to 40 pounds and 4 feet long the fish was caught over a natural ledge 30 miles off Redfish Pass. 20 pound test line was used with 30 pound test leader and a #3 hook. Note: this was NOT caught during a Club outing!!!
April 2025 results: Jerry Vadnais is the leading angler and Captain Bob Stern is the leading boat captain, both coming in first in their respective groups in the April Dartboard tournament.
Jerry Vadnais was top angler again in the April Dartboard tournament with 142.5 inches of target fish caught. Bob Stern took second place and John Bringham came in third. Jerry and Bob are in a nail biter race for Angler of the Year with Lauren Schneider in third place!
It is an exciting two-person race for Captain of the Year with Bob Stern having a four-point lead over Bill Schneider. Roger King is doing really well in third place even with only 2 tournaments counting for his scores.
A special thanks to Captain Matt Joyce who entered his boat in the tournament for the first time - we cannot hold these outings without the generosity of our Captains, so thank you!
